IMPORTANT VISIT FROM ONBES KASIM CYPRUS UNIVERSITY TO THE ASSOCIATIONS OF MUJAHITS

Onbeş Kasım Cyprus University visited ASSOCIATION OF MUJAHITS to celebrate the 46th anniversary of the 20 July Happy Peace Operation.

Under the presidency of Remziye Terkan, the Vice Rector of the Onbeş Kasım Cyprus University, the lecturers who visited the Mujahits Association presented a plaque of appreciation, bearing the name of "heroes of the freedom struggle", to the President of the Mujahits Association, Yılmaz Bora.

University Acting Rector Associate Professor Dr. Remziye Terkan emphasized that the 20 July Happy Peace Operation is meaningful and important for the Turkish Cypriots' struggle for existence and freedom and we know TMT as the own work of the Turkish Cypriot people. We know that it is the organization of those who save the Turkish Cypriot people from captivity, protect their Turkish rights on the island, and those who do not and will not abandon the flag in the struggle for existence and freedom of the Turkish Cypriots.

While emphasizing in his speech that the heroic mujahits carried the Turkish Cypriot people to freedom in this honorable cause, Terkan added that ‘’she commemorates all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for us so that we can live freely in this land. We are obliged to convey our cause, we have adopted the principle of informing them with our honorable history.’’

Terkan pointed out that the Turkish Cypriots have been living freely in this geography for 46 years and have made moves that will make the state they founded more modern and economically stronger, and that universities have serious responsibilities in this context, and in our blessed cause, we will continue to maintain and glorify our existence in Cyprus with our own values.

Yılmaz Bora, the President of the Cyprus Turkish Mujahits Association, expressed his satisfaction with the visit and said, “Noting that this meaningful visit of Onbeş Kasım University gave them strength, he pointed out that our honorable cause should be explained to the youth in all aspects .’’ Bora said “The Turkish Cypriot people have no other expectation in Cyprus than security and peace.’’ He analyzed the facts of our recent history very well and stated that they did not take kindly to an idea that had kept us at the table for 52 years.

Bora emphasized that any guarantee other than Turkey's guarantee endangers the sovereignty of the Turkish Cypriot people, and that the example of Crete should be looked at carefully. Despite our advanced age, we are always trying to stand up against scenarios of a treaty that will dilute our sovereignty. A "Cyprus Desk" should be established in universities to explain our cause so that our young people can learn about this struggle better and raise their awareness. Celal Bayar, the vice president of the association, who took the floor during the visit, emphasized the importance of education on society and emphasized that the case should be explained with examples starting from primary school to universities, emphasizing that the world is still ignoring our cause, and emphasized that the struggle for this should not be abandoned.

After the visit, the board of the directors of the association presented the flag of the association, to Onbeş Kasım Cyprus University Vice Rector Assoc. Dr. Remziye Terkan.
