TÖRE VISITED ONBEŞ KASIM KIBRIS UNIVERSITY
Zorlu Töre, President of the Assembly of the Republic, made his first visit to Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University on November 15, within the framework of the visits he initiated to universities engaged in educational activities in the country.
University Rector Prof. Dr. Remziye Terkan thanked the Speaker of the Assembly, Töre, on the occasion of his visit, and stated that they set out with an education approach that will make the Republic live strongly, and stated that they are not only a university for young people, but also for the whole public.
Terkan said: “We are a university that grows and progresses with firm steps, befitting the name of November 15.”
Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mr. Ertan Birinci also stated in his speech that the President of the Assembly visiting the university during the founding week of the university means a lot to them and that this is a great motivation for them.
Stating that while many things materialize in the age of information, information and technology, spiritual values remain in the background, and noted that the meaning of the visit is very valuable in this respect.
First, stressing that November 15 is not just a date, he added, "It is the highest point at which a heroism, a national struggle is crowned," and stated that they wanted to give the name of this struggle to the university, so that the students who come to the university learn that the story of our Republic. President of the Assembly of the Republic, Zorlu Töre, expressed in his speech that they were very happy that the name 15 November was given to the university, and congratulated the university administrators for this behavior.
Pointing out that the value of the Republic should always be well known, Töre said: "We will not give up on the Republic and November 15." Noting that they wanted to start a visit to universities, Töre said that they made their first visit to Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University on 15 November because of the name.
Expressing that they commemorate the Geçitkale and Boğaziçi martyrs with respect on November 15, he stated that 24 martyrs were lost in these villages and a great struggle was waged.
Saying that they established the TRNC with the resistance of the martyrs and veterans, Töre said: "Without them, we would not be where we are today."
During the visit, President Töre was also accompanied by Chief of Staff İrem Uygun Soyşen.
