PHOTO COMPETITION
Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University’s Rectorate was arranged a competition that is innovation-themed “Competition For Young Photographers Who Capture the Moment” within the framework of the activities in 2022-2023 academic year which has deadline on March 18, 2023, also this competition for young people between the ages 14-25 in TRNC.
GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION
- All people that live in the TRNC, Turkish or foreign ones within the TRNC borders can participate in the competition.
- The people who will apply for the competition must be between the age limits of 14-25.
- Each contestant can participate totally in this the competition with 3 works. All of them can be evaluated, but 1 of them can receive a reward.
- 4.Online application form and photo needs to be need to be send via email (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) until March 18, 2023.(Deadline March 18, 2023). Then, a public vote will be done via social media between March 19 and 26. The public vote will make up 30% of the scoring and the jury evaluation will make up 70%.
- The short edge of the photos must be at least 2000 pixels. Beside it, works’ original version taken in high resolution need to be uploaded and fill online registration form and upload it.
- Those who submit works to the competition are considered as they are declared and committed that the works belong to them.
- The works that sent to the competition and used visual material must have been taken within the last 1 year and the copyrights must not be sold
- Our University has the right to exhibit and record each photo participating in the competition in accordance with the consent of the contestant.
- Competition results will be determined at the end of jury meeting that will be arranged between dates March April 27- April 10, 2023 and award ceremony will be held on April 20, 2023.
- The organizers of the competition and jury members’ first-degree relatives cannot participate this competition.
- The jury's decision is stable and cannot be changed.
- The conditions of participation consist of 12 articles that also includes this one, each participant is considered as they accepted the participation conditions of the competition. Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs Univeristy reserves the right to change participation conditions.

SHORT FILM COMPETITION
PURPOSE
Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University (OKKU) is getting ready to arrange the first (1st) Inter-High School Creative Youth Short Film Competition. The purpose of the competition has been told as coming together the young people who are citizen of Republic of Turkey and study in TRNC high schools, and TRNC citizenships to provide them to build new friendship also, discovering future directors, producers. According to the information given by the competition committee, films can be prepared in documentary and dramatic content. The conditions for participation in the competition organized by the organization of OKKU Faculty of Communication are as following;
OKKU Inter-High School Creative Youth Short Film Competition Participation Conditions
- Students who are citizens of the Republic of Turkey and study in one of the TRNC high schools and study in TRNC high schools and equivalent schools can participate this competition.
- Films should be no more than 15 minutes…
- There is no subject limitation in the films; however, if films that do not comply with the principles of National Education and general moral rules will not be evaluated.
- Whatever is films’original format, the films that participate in the competition must be recorded with the ‘PAL’ system.
- Jurors can eliminate films because of the obvious technical errors they contain
- The deadline to submit for applications to participate in the competition is March 18, 2023. Additionally, Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs Univeristy Dr. Fazıl Küçük Boulevard, Meral Birinci Sok. No:1 Taşkinköy-Nicosia / Northern Cyprus P.K. 425.
- 2 DVD copies of the work
- 2 Black-and-white or color photos related to the film
- Summary of the film (no more than 100 words)
- Student certificate
- It is possible to participate in the competition individually or as a group. Those who will participate as a group must indicate the name of a person responsible for the group. Students can participate in the competition with more than one film.
- The television of our university GENÇ TV, has the right to screen every film participating in the competition.
- The jury's decisions can not be objected.
- The results of the competition will be determined at the end of the jury meeting and awards will be given at a ceremony that will be held at our University on April 20, 2023.
- The organizers of the competition and the first-degree relatives of the members of the selection committee cannot participate in the competition.
- The works that sent to the competition and the visual materials used must not have been exhibited, published, won an award before and the copyrights must not have been sold.
- The conditions of participation consist of 13 articles, also including this one. Each participant is considered as they have accepted the conditions of participation the competition. The conditions of participation can only be changed by the organizers of the competition.
AWARDS
The finalists who have won the degree in the competition and 1 person who will accompany them will be entitled to attend the award ceremony as a guest at the Central Campus of the Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University, all costs of which will be covered by the university, the institution organizing the competition.

Second Place Award: 90% Preparatory Scholarship for Studying English at OKKU Campus (1 Year) + Achievement Certificate
Third Place Award: 80% Preparatory Scholarship for Studying English at OKKU Campus (1 Year) + Achievement Certificate
THE DEADLINE OF COMPETITION AND AWARD CEREMONY
The application deadline for the competition is Thursday, April 20, 2023.
The award ceremony will be on Thursday April 20, 2023 and is also end of the competition, where our young filmmaker friends will come together with experts in their field. Competitors who do not win a prize can take back their works if they wish.
