Tourism & Hotel Management
The teaching staff of the Tourism and Hotel Management Department are composed of academicians with both sectoral and academic experience. The department is established for training visionary and innovative managers and academics with the ability to make decisions by researching, synthesizing.
Our curriculum mainly consists of travel agency-tour operator, accommodation management and food and beverage management, service techniques also supports foreign language, communication with customers, sales techniques and accounting.In our curriculum, computers and automation are also being used extensively. At the end of their education, our students will graduate as learned to the ticketing automation system Amadeus which is used by travel agencies for selling airline tickets and Opera which is the preferred software system of the hospitality industry.
Besides the theoretical knowledge in the tourism sector, the practice also holds a very important place. Our students will take some lessons in Girne Buyuk Anadolu Hotel which our university has and the other businesses during their education and will have the opportunity to combine their internship with theory and practice.
Another important issue for the graduated student to be ready for the needs of the sector is to do an internship in a correct and sufficient business. Our students have the opportunity to intern in Girne Büyük Anadolu Hotel as well as in other hotels, travel agencies. So they have the chance to know the job environment, after their graduation they will be ready to meet the need for highly qualified labor force.
Tourism sector is one of the jobs with the highest employment opportunities in which one of every 11 people are working worldwide.Our students who will have sufficient knowledge and skills for the sector as a result of the theoretical and practical courses have the chance to find jobs in both domestic and abroad hotels, travel agencies, airports and airline companies (cabin crew, stewardess), cruise ships and public institutions about tourism.
